Frank WILL 1900/1950 - Paris, stroll in Montmartre - Watercolor - French School of the twentieth

Frank Boggs, said Frank Will was born at Nanterre on March 13, 1900. After studying architecture, he devoted himself to painting with donations he inherited from his father the American painter Frank Myers Boggs. In 1919 he took the pseudonym Frank-Will. He excelled in watercolor, his oils are heavier and pasted but the last he realized. He painted Montmartre and Paris, his favorite subjects, but also marine, galleons, the Normandy coast, Moret sur Loing, Mantes, and Morocco and other topics. He was greatly influenced by Gen Paul and Leprin who become his friends. He lived a long time in Montmartre among all the painters of his time. He exhibited in H. Bramme, his father's shop. His painting evolves from a typically Montmartre post-impressionism and expressionism tragic. He died in Clichy in 1950 as a result of alcohol abuse. He is buried in Pere Lachaise.
