MALFROY Henry (1895-1944)
MALFROY Henry MALFROY or Savigny-painter of landscapes and seascapes. Post- Impressionist. Ecole Provençale. Born January 15, 1895 in Martigues (Bouches-du-Rhône). Died in 1942. French School.
He served his apprenticeship at the School of Fine Arts in Paris with his father Charles Malfroy, with which it is often confused. He exhibited regularly in Paris at the Salon of French Artists and until 1934 Salon des Independants.
Adopting a technique close to Impressionism, he painted the coasts and ports of Bouches-du-Rhône (Sausset les Pins, Martigues, Cassis) and Var, but also landscapes of Paris and the Seine River. Located in Martigues, it expands its key illuminates his compositions, approaching the Provençal landscape, as Felix Ziem. Museum of Toulon Oriental and other Landscape
